BETHLEHEM, Pa. — WLVR’s Megan Frank had the opportunity to chat with Anthony DeSanctis, who programmed the movies for the sci-fi film festival Beep Boop, Beep Boop. It takes place from Aug. 25 through 27 at ArtsQuest in Bethlehem.
There’s a diverse selection of science fiction films, from 1950s classic Invasion of the Body Snatchers to the visually stunning 2001: A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick. Following the screening of 2001: A Space Odyssey, there will be a Q&A talkback with Joe Frinzi, author of Kubrick’s Monolith: The Art and Mystery of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
The iconic lesbian film, Born in Flames will feature a pre-recorded virtual interview with the film’s director/writer/producer, Lizzie Borden. This screening is part of the Lehigh Valley LGBTQ+ Film Series and is free to the public. You can also have a laugh and a scare with the movie Attack the Block, and you can yell along with Admiral James T. Kirk during Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
Hear Megan's interview with DeSanctis below.
