Allentown Film Festival will return for a second year April 6-14.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Allentown Film Festival, which debuted last year with a mix of international, American and Lehigh Valley films, will return for a second year, organizers have announced.

The second annual Allentown Film Festival will be from April 6-14 at the Civic Theatre of Allentown and its boutique Theatre514 across the street.

There also will be showings at Allentown Art Museum, Miller Symphony Hall, The Downtown Allentown Market and other city landmarks in the city, organizers said.

At the inaugural 2023 festival, more than 150 films from around the world — half from local filmmakers — were screened.

Submissions are being sought now. Entry is open, with the first deadline of Feb. 1 and the final deadline March 1.

Entry is free and all genres are welcome (scripted, unscripted, etc.) Multiple submissions by filmmakers are encouraged.

Winners will be notified March 15.

Screening times will be announced later.

Lehigh Valley residents can submit films, one to five minutes long, in three categories: K-12 students, college students and nonstudents.

Awards and prizes will be in Best Narrative Features, Best Documentary Features, Best Narrative Shorts, Best Documentary Shorts and Best Music Videos.
