Soundpainting workshop at Bethlehem Area Public Library
Bethlehem Area Public Library is holding a free and open-to-the-public soundpainting workshop at 10 a.m. Oct. 8.
Clueless about what soundpainting might be? It’s an interactive, improvisational, and one-of-a-kind experience featuring sign language for live composition.
The activity allows a conductor to sculpt a performance in real time with improvising actors, musicians, dancers and visual artists.
The event is presented by Zoellner Arts Center and directed by "Strike Anywhere," a New York-based innovative ensemble. It is also the preeminent performance group in the U.S. practicing soundpainting.
No prior experience is necessary. You can bring an instrument if you have one; otherwise, you just need comfortable clothes and an open mind!
Sound interesting? Space is limited and registration is required, so sign up here as soon as you can!
Halloween Haunt presented by Dorney Park
Dorney Park has transformed into a Halloween-themed amusement park for October. The terrifying Halloween Haunt is open until Oct. 29.
Hundreds of frightening ghouls and ghosts are ready to create nightmares for visitors.
You will find haunted scare mazes, scare zones and live entertainment around every corner. Hordes of hungry zombies and blood-thirsty vampires eagerly await you. And don’t forget those wicked screams! There’s no getting away from them.
Adding its world-class thrill rides with its own brand of fear, Dorney Park offers an extreme, supreme Halloween event. But be prepared: they are going to scare you out of your mind but it is an unforgettable night and one of the most popular Halloween activities in town.
Halloween Haunt is recommended for children over 13. Monsters are released into the park at 6:30 p.m. The haunted attractions begin at 7 p.m.
There is a necklace available for purchase that tells the monsters to take it easy around whoever wears one.
