HANOVER TWP., Pa. — A travel alert for folks heading to Lehigh Valley International Airport focuses on the ground and not the air.
Starting Monday, the departures road at the airport in Lehigh County will be closed through Sept. 17 for a repaving project.
LVIA officials say all passengers should use the arrivals road and parking lots when arriving at the airport — even if it’s for departing flights. The Uber and Lyft rideshare area will be relocated to the bus loop in the Multimodal Transportation Center, according to a news release.
All vestibules and sidewalks will be closed, as well as the stairways from the parking lot, officials said.

Once the work is finished, crews will shut down the arrival lane for its repaving. That is set for Monday, Sept. 18, through Sept. 27. Traffic will be diverted to the departures road.
It’s the latest pieces of improvement work at the airport. Officials on Aug. 30 opened the new TSA checkpoint and terminal connector.
Gov. Josh Shapiro and U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg paid a visit to mark completion of the $35 million connector bridge.
