Salisbury Township police officers responded to a motor vehicle accident Sunday afternoon that left a woman pinned between her vehicle and a home.

SALISBURY TWP., Pa. — A 20-year-old woman who left her disabled car was trapped against a home when the car rolled backward and also broke off a home gas line, police said.

The woman, whom police did not identify, was extracted by fire department and emergency services personnel and taken to St. Luke's Hospital for a suspected serious injury, police said.

Township Police Sgt. Bryan Losagio said Monday there was no update on the status of the woman.

"While trying to get back in the vehicle and stop it, the woman became pinned between her vehicle and a home."
Salisbury Township Police release

According to a release from township police, the woman was operating the 2012 Dodge Durango when it broke down Sunday afternoon on Broadway in the township.

An investigation showed the woman exited the vehicle and it began to roll backward toward a home on the 1500 block of Broadway.

While trying to get back in the vehicle and stop it, the woman became pinned between her vehicle and a home, police said.

The Dodge also struck an above-ground gas line/meter during the incident, police said.

Police, UGI respond

Police responded to the scene about 3:32 p.m., the release said.

Photos online show the vehicle pressed up against the siding of a home, where it hit the gas line/meter.

"Some shrubs on the outside were damaged, but it didn't really seem like the house took any damage," Losagio said.

UGI was contacted about the gas line, and additional emergency services were on scene "just in case anything did happen," Losagio said.

Photos also show the driver's side door ripped backward, towards the front of the vehicle.

The homeowner called in the accident, Losagio said.
