ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A delivery driver has been charged in a fatal hit-and-run crash last month after authorities said the victim confronted the driver near South Fourth Street and Emaus Avenue.
The U.S. Marshals Service in Philadelphia on Wednesday announced it had arrested Amazon driver Troy Johnson in the 5400 block of Norfolk Street in West Philadelphia.
He was wanted on a warrant issued Dec. 10 on charges of third-degree murder in the Nov. 21 killing of 29-year-old Rigiberto Hernandez Arias, of Allentown, authorities said.
“The victim ended up on the hood or windshield of the van and the van driver drove away with [Hernandez] still on the vehicle. He apparently fell off in the 2400 block of South Fourth Street.”Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan
Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan previously said Hernandez had confronted the delivery driver after believing the driver had struck the victim’s own vehicle earlier.
Hernandez tracked down the delivery van that he believed had earlier struck his car by following it through the city, Holihan said.
