ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A 14-year-old boy who died more than a week after being pulled from Allentown’s Jordan Creek was identified Monday.

Christopher Roldan-Solis, of Allentown, died Friday morning from complications of drowning, Lehigh County Coroner Dan Buglio said. His death was an accident, Buglio ruled.

Christopher’s name was withheld from the coroner’s report Friday “to allow the family to grieve privately during this tragic period,” Buglio said.

Christopher jumped into Jordan Creek while playing with his friends near Jordan Park, authorities have said. Firefighters pulled him from the creek several minutes later after he didn’t resurface and people in the area struggled to rescue him, authorities said.

He was taken in critical condition to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he died Friday.

Buglio said his office is investigating Christopher’s death with the Allentown Police Department’s Special Victims Unit.

Swimming in creeks and the Lehigh River is illegal in Allentown, under city ordinances.
