A fire in the 900 block of North Penn Street killed one person Sunday, authorities said.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A 28-year-old Allentown woman who was the victim of a fire Sunday morning died from smoke inhalation, authorities said Tuesday.

Milagros Fonseca died about 7:40 a.m. Sunday, about two hours after a fire broke out at her home in the 900 block of North Penn St.

Fonseca died from inhaling "products of combustion" from the fire, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said Tuesday after an autopsy was completed.

He ruled her death was an accident.

Two other people were treated for burns they suffered in the fire, Allentown Fire Captain John Christopher said Monday. Their conditions were not immediately available Tuesday.

The early morning fire damaged at least 12 homes, with four deemed uninhabitable, Christopher said.

Funeral service scheduled

Dozens have contributed almost $2,000 to a GoFundMe page to help Fonseca's family pay for her funeral, as of Tuesday afternoon.

Fonseca's service is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. Monday at Smyrna Church of the Lord in Bethlehem, according to her cousin Omayra Santiago, who set up the page.

"Milli was our rock," Santiago wrote, adding she “had such a beautiful unique connection” with her relatives.

She had a passion for art since she was a young girl, and “her comedy was infectious,” Santiago wrote.

“You literally could not have a conversation without her making a joke, and the swiftness of her delivery would make it that much more hilarious, never skipping a beat,” she wrote.
