ALLENTOWN, Pa. — An Allentown man has been charged in the fatal shooting of another city man last fall.
Evander Terrel Thompson, 30, was charged Friday with fatally shooting Orlando Ibanez, 58, in his neck early on the morning of Sept. 23 at an apartment in the 500 block of West Allen Street.
Thompson faces charges of homicide and aggravated assault, as well as gun-related charges, according to court documents.
He was taken into custody at Lehigh County Jail, where he was incarcerated on unrelated charges, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office said.
Thompson is being held without bail, as of Friday.

Surveillance cameras showed Thompson walking from his home to the apartment building and leaving after the shooting, District Attorney Gavin Holihan’s office said.

Police allege they found the gun used in the shooting at Thompson’s bedroom while searching his home in the 200 block of North Nagle Street on May 15 for a separate case.
A preliminary hearing for Thompson is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. Thursday in Lehigh County court.
