Brown reported finding a noose Jan. 10 on her desk in City Hall, where she works for Allentown’s Department of Community and Economic Development.
Protesters demonstrated that week outside the municipal government’s headquarters, demanding the FBI aid the city police department’s investigation into the noose.
State Police also joined the investigation; its Forensic DNA Division found Brown's DNA profile matched samples from the outer surfaces of the noose and inner knotted areas, Allentown Capt. Steve Milkovits said in March while announcing charges against Brown.
Brown told police she picked up the item and didn’t immediately recognize it as a noose.
A photo of the noose released by authorities shows the small item resting atop a closed laptop on Brown's desk.
Brown posted $1,000 bail on April 22, the same day she waived her first preliminary hearing in Lehigh County Court.
Brown also is an Allentown School Board member. Her term ends this year; she did not seek re-election.
No future court date has been scheduled in Brown’s case, as of Tuesday morning.
