State police said Mica Kincaid, of Weissport, was wanted on a parole violation from Carbon County. He fled from troopers and went into a hotel room where he barricaded himself with a firearm, according to state police.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A barricaded person who prompted police to shut down Airport Road on Sunday was later found dead in a hotel, state police said.

The Lehigh County Coroner's Office identified the man as 62-year-old Mica R. Kincaid, of Weissport.

He died of a gunshot wound; the manner of death was suicide, Coroner Dan Buglio said.

The incident started at 10:16 a.m. as state police said they tried to serve an arrest warrant on Kincaid in the parking lot of the Super 8 at 1033 Airport Road.

He was wanted on a parole violation from Carbon County, state police said. He fled from troopers and went into a hotel room where he barricaded himself with a firearm, state police said.

Several police surrounded the hotel, including the Allentown Emergency Response Team, which state police said tried to negotiate a peaceful surrender.

When authorities entered the hotel room, they found Kincaid dead, they said. No other injuries were reported.

An autopsy and toxicology testing is set for Tuesday, Buglio said.

Airport Road, which was closed between East Congress Street and Union Boulevard, was reopened about 1:25 p.m., authorities said.
