ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Authorities charged two men with attempted murder after a shotgun shooting early Wednesday, police said.
Arrested were Christopher Joel Colon, 32, and John Brace, 32, both of Allentown.
Police said the victim, Jorge Alicea Jr., suffered multiple gunshot wounds about 1:30 a.m. in the 400 block of North Jordan Street.
Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan said multiple shotgun rounds were fired from the passenger side of a vehicle as Alicea was walking from a porch toward the double-parked vehicle.
The vehicle fled, but Holihan said city-owned crimefighting cameras recorded it at multiple locations and officers were able to stop it.
Officers arrested Colon and Brace about 35 minutes after the shooting, according to a news release from Holihan. They recovered a spent shotgun shell from inside the car; a black shotgun was recovered from a drain grate along the route they took, Holihan said.
Both Colon and Brace are charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Colon is also charged with aggravated assault and tampering with or fabricating evidence, police said.
Both were arraigned Wednesday night before District Judge Todd Heffelfinger and committed to Lehigh County Jail in lieu of $500,000 cash bail.
Preliminary hearings are scheduled Dec. 6 in Lehigh County Central Court.
Alicea was taken by ambulance to a hospital for immediate surgery, Holihan said.
Holihan said the charges were filed by Officer Robbie Gruber of the Allentown Police Department and will be prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Ashley Troxell and Chief Deputy District Attorney Edward Muir.
