The pandemic has encouraged many people to take up bird watching.

WLVR’s Brad Klein took time to speak with the vice president of the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society, Barbara Malt.

She’s doing a presentation next week at the Allentown Public Library called "Birding 101." It's a free session that will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20. You can register here.

Malt says it’s easy to get started with birding, which can provide a window into the natural world. She also shares her own favorite spots to look for birds in the Lehigh Valley.

Additionally, the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society will conduct an online birding class that starts Thursday. It's the first of a three-session course called "How to Be a Birder." There's a $25 fee and you can find more information here.
