A large part of the $2.6 million increase in Whitehall Township's proposed $33.7 million budget is because of the escalating cost of garbage collection.

Whitehall Twp. tax collector and treasurer Tina Koren officially filed a federal suit against the township and the mayor, alleging she was obstructed from doing her job and unjustly subjected to grievances from staff.
