Gas prices are going down

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Instead of coal, Santa may be bringing you lower gas prices this Christmas.

  • Gas prices in Pennsylvania are ten cents lower this week, clocking in at $3.759 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report
  • Nationally, average prices dropped 13.5 cents over the past week, down to $3.245
  • Gas demand is also down

According to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report, gas prices in Pennsylvania are ten cents lower this week, clocking in at $3.759 per gallon.

Pennsylvanians are not the only ones relieved.

Nationally, average prices dropped 13.5 cents over the past week, down to $3.245. In 30 states, gas price averages are actually lower than this time last year.

According to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas demand for the nation is low, at 8.36 million barrels per day last week.

This is approximately 605,000 barrels per day less than a year ago.
