ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Allentown Police Department says threats of a potential shooting at Dieruff High School are not credible.
Students at the high school were dismissed at 11 a.m. after the school was locked down at 10 a.m. In a statement, law enforcement officials say a report of a possible school shooting at Dieruff was called into Safe2Say, the district’s anonymous tip line.

A spokeswoman for the Allentown School District said in a statement that the high school administration and Allentown Police Department began investigating the tip prior to the start of the school day. Two other tips threatening violence were called into the tip line throughout the morning, leading them to let students go early.
"ASD wants our community to know that, throughout this entire process, the district along with the Dieruff administration, have been in constant communication with the police," the statement said. "All of these parties are continuing to work collaboratively to investigate these tips and ensure that all policies and protocols are followed."

A statement from the police department said the tips received through the Safe2Say hotline were thoroughly investigated. It said there is no danger to the community.
Safe2Say is monitored 24/7 by crisis center analysts who review tips and communicate with school-level
teams and local police officials. State law makes it illegal to give law enforcement false information.
