BETHLEHEM, Pa. - In a video sent to parents earlier this week, Superintendent Joseph Roy said the district is considering several scenarios. The first is continuing the current program of virtual learning — and keeping all students home.
A second, mixed model, would combine remote school with some in-person instruction — and allow a limited number of students to attend on alternating days.
“If social distancing rules require us to have half our populations in our schools, a hybrid model is a possibility. It’s also possible that we could have a pretty close to normal opening with enhanced cleaning and respecting social distancing,” said Roy.
Schools are currently closed through the end of the school year.
Bethlehem introduced virtual learning last month, and is grading all high school students on a pass/fail system.
