Heads up! Here are 5 things you don't want to miss today

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — It's Friday! Yay! It's our favorite day of the week. Any chance you can guess why?

It's also National Skip the Straw Day. Which, can we just say, there are a lot of cool alternatives to plastic straws? Our favorite so far is a rolled-up noodle. It doesn't get soggy at all.

1. Phil Gianficaro attended a city meeting with the Allentown Parking Authority, and residents seem to be disgruntled, to say the least.

2. The Bethlehem Area Public Library is getting a facelift, to bring it in line with the modern needs people have for civic spaces. Kat Dickey has the scoop.

3. Speaking of scoops, Ryan Gaylor has a story on an ice cream shop opening up across the street from Calypso Elementary School. It goes back to the cardinal rule of real estate: location, location, location.

4. In more food-related news, Jay Bradley has rounded up a comprehensive and delicious list of specials for Restaurant Week. Yum.

5. Yesterday evening, Lehigh Valley Public Media had a special conversation with the community on how the pandemic changed, well, everything. Come back later to check out what we learned.

From the team at LehighValleyNews.com, we hope you have a great day. Thanks for reading!
