BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Some of the latest health care technologies will be on display in the Lehigh Valley this weekend.
Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network’s second annual event is called Leading Disruption: A Health-Care Innovation Summit.

"Health care is really complicated," said Emily Lyter, an event coordinator. "It's ripe for innovation.
“This conference is a way for us to really cultivate a community of innovators so that we can improve patient care and the lives of people living in our community with a disability.”
Lyter is the administrative director for Good Shepherd Learns, Creates and Research, a program that provides formal and non-formal learning opportunities aimed at empowering clinicians to provide excellent patient care.
Saturday’s conference will take place at ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem and is expected to attract more than 200 people.
“The conference is really geared to health care professionals, clinical and non-clinical, like educators, students, entrepreneurs,” Lyter said.
“Really anyone who health care innovation [or] health care impacts, because we need partners to really improve what we do.”
Details of the event
Keynote speaker for the event will be David Putrino, professor of rehabilitation and human performance at the Icahn School of Medicine.
Putrino is a physical therapist turned researcher and innovator committed to developing improved technology for health care accessibility.
Lyter said the event also will feature an interactive area to see some of the health field’s latest technology.

“Let's just say that we have some really great exhibitors this year,” she said. “Our tech demo area is going to be really exciting.

The event is free to all Good Shepherd employees. People outside of the network can buy tickets through the day of the event, but prior registration is strongly encouraged.
