BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Brad Klein reviews the week’s astronomical highlights with Bethlehem’s ‘Backyard Astronomy Guy,’ Marty McGuire.
This week: a preview of Marty’s presentation, Saturday, July 6, at 2 p.m. at the main branch of the Bethlehem Public Library.
The subject will be Mars, and McGuire says that he’ll focus on two NASA rovers that remain in operation on the surface of the Red Planet. The older of the two is named Curiosity. And Perseverance is the more recent mission, launched in 2020.
They are bigger than you might think. “About the size of an SUV,” according to McGuire.
The program, ‘Exploring Mars’ is suitable for all ages, according to the Library’s website. It starts at 2 p.m., Saturday. Participants are urged to register for the event at the library’s main branch at:
