HARRISBURG, Pa. - Currently, state law requires voters to get their ballots back before 8 p.m. on June second.
The lawsuit wants that changed to June 9, so long as they’re postmarked June 2 or before.
It claims PA’s current rules violate the state constitution because voters who apply for mailed ballots at the same time could end up receiving them days apart depending on where they live.
In some cases, late enough that they’d feel compelled to submit them in person despite health risks from the pandemic.
The plaintiffs say thousands of Wisconsin voters were put in that situation a few weeks ago with chaotic results.
