WILLIAMS TWP., Pa. — Not all anniversaries are worth celebrating. Donut knows that firsthand.
Donut, a 2-year-old Pitt Bull Terrier, recently celebrated his one-year anniversary as a shelter dog, and we really don’t understand why. Despite his good looks and winning personality, Donut continues to get overlooked.
Donut arrived at The Center for Animal Health & Welfare in Williams Township in late July 2022. He was originally found wandering on a high-traffic road in the middle of the night and was rescued by a local police department who brought him to us (hence the name).
Donut absolutely loves meeting new people, especially kids. In fact, he’s met quite a few during his adventures outside of the shelter and is known to cry when they walk away from him.
When it comes to dogs, Donut really is the complete package. He is super handsome and super smart - and a good listener. He loves training and has learned a lot of new tricks while waiting for his forever home.
As a young dog, Donut still has lots of energy, so he’d do best with a person or family who enjoys taking long walks, running, or hiking. He also needs to be the only pet in the home since he’s more of a people pup and not a fan of other animals.
Donut has now spent half of his life in a shelter. We really hope that he finds his forever home soon so that a year from now he’ll have an anniversary worth celebrating!
