BETHLEHEM, Pa. - All Bethlehem and Northampton area schools are going fully remote this Monday and won’t return to in-person learning until at least January 11th.
District superintendents made the announcement yesterday on social media. In a video, BASD’s Joseph Roy said he was concerned about viral spread over the winter break.
“And the purpose there is to give us time to manage any surge in cases that come in post-Christmas holiday. To make sure students and teachers are not in school in that week when we may have a surge in cases.”
Roy says he’s concerned about an increasing number of COVID cases among students and staff. He says school principals will be in touch with families about the expectations for students during the virtual learning period.
Allentown schools remain fully virtual until likely the spring of next year. Easton Area schools remain in hybrid mode until December 18. Easton
Area High School will be remote today and Friday for a deep clean and then are expected to return to in-person learning next week.
