BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The owner of a design and decor shop in the Christmas City who calls herself an “Allentonian at heart” said the time is now to move the business to the Queen City.
Michelle Olson, owner of French cottage-inspired design shop Marché Maison, said in a news release Monday that her store — which had operated out of the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts in Bethlehem the past six months — will move to Phoebe Floral Shop in Allentown.
Both this year and last year, in its “April in Paris” shopping event, Marché Maison was joined by Phoebe Floral with its “Parisian-inspired” flower cart for shoppers to build fresh bouquets.
Olson said her first stop on buying trips to Paris is always the florist, since she happens to love all things flowers and French.
“Relocating Marché Maison to Phoebe Floral feels like a natural step as Phoebe celebrates each season in fresh and silk flowers while Marché Maison is about creating a sense of home and celebrating each season in home decor."Marché Maison Owner Michelle Olson

Phoebe Floral has been in business for nearly 100 years, and at its 2102 Hamilton St. location since 1988.
"We are excited about the addition of Marché Maison to our location,” Phoebe Floral owner Jack Robinson said. “It's vintage; French feel pairs well with our shop and customer base."
Olson said she expects to travel to Paris and Provence, France, next month to buy more vintage pieces for the new shop at Phoebe Floral, she said.
The business’ move to Allentown comes after Olson’s over six years of partnership with Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites.
Before its Kemerer Museum location, Marché Maison operated out of the Goundie House on Main Street.
