President Donald Trump signed the latest federal stimulus bill yesterday, but federal unemployment benefits may still be delayed for recipients. In the interim, WLVR’s Brittany Sweeney has more on other Pennsylvania resources for people struggling to make ends meet.

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Officials with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry say the passing of the latest stimulus bill is a step in the right direction for more than half million unemployed Pennsylvanians.

Meanwhile, L & I, along with the Department of Human Services and United Way of Pennsylvania are reminding those who are hurting financially that assistance is available.

DHS Secretary Teresa Miller is urging people to use these resources even if it’s just for a short period of time.

“If you’ve lost health insurance or your job doesn’t offer health insurance Medicaid, the Children’s health insurance program and Penny, PA’s state based exchange can help connect you to coverage and access care without fear of financial ruin…”

The United Way of PA’s 211 program offers a wide variety of resources for people who may need help with food, housing, utilities and other necessities.

Those resources can be accessed by calling 211 or visitingPA211.org.
