BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Valley artists who are working to improve their mental health will showcase their work during Bethlehem’s First Friday on July 1, and the community is invited to come out to show support.
Recovery Partnership is an area non-profit supporting those needing help with mental health issues and they are opening their doors to the public to view the Artist in Recovery art show.
Exhibit Coordinator Angela Lender said these are people who use their creativity as a way of healing.
“A lot of the artists that are on display come in and we sit in our conference room and we will create so you can watch one of the artists doing live painting, another one might be using colored pencils.”
There is also an interactive element, Lender said, during which anyone from the community can come in and create art with them.
Some artists sell their work at the show, she said, and others auction theirs off and get 100% of the profits.
The Artist is Recovery exhibit is open from noon to 2 p.m. on the first Friday of every month at the office located at 70 W. North St., Bethlehem.
