BETHLEHEM TWP., Pa. — At least 18 vehicles were found disabled in the township after their occupants bought gas at the same service station on Freemansburg Avenue, police said Wednesday.
The gas was sold at Raceway at 3608 Freemansburg Ave., on Tuesday, according to police.
Police Capt. Shaun Powell said officers were dispatched to the area around the gas station about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday because of reports of “several disabled vehicles.”

“When our officers were driving over there, they found over 10 vehicles there and along Freemansburg Avenue —all of which were disabled," Powell said.
"All those vehicles had recently purchased some quantity of fuel at Raceway in the minutes preceding that, and during the course of the day, we totaled 18 disabled vehicles associated with this incident."
Powell said police contacted the Northampton County Department of Weights and Measures, which inspects fuel stations throughout the county.
He said his department got a response, but said he was not aware of “where their investigation is going.”
Raceway was reported to be closed on Wednesday morning.
Tow truck drivers and other people have made numerous social media posts stating a fuel delivery driver may have filled gasoline tanks with diesel fuel.
The county Department of Weights and Measurements has yet to confirm that.
