BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Celtic Cultural Alliance, which every year presents the Celtic Classic festival in Bethlehem, has announced its latest event.
All About Mead, which will provide participants with an opportunity to learn about the long history of mead and its production process, will pair the alliance with Colony Meadery, an award-winning mead maker based in Bethlehem and Easton.

The event will be June 6 at Colony Meadery's Easton production facility.
Ticket holders will have the opportunity to taste five different mead samples provided by Colony Meadery.
Tickets, at $25 and $20 for alliance members, are limited and expected to sell out quickly, the alliance said.

Made from honey, loved by Celts and Vikings
Mead, a fermented beverage made from honey, was a beloved drink among Celtic tribes and Viking warriors.
However, it has largely disappeared over the past few centuries, with beer, wine and whisky taking its place.

Celtic Alliance Executive Director Jayne Ann Recker emphasized the importance of partnering with local businesses and promoting cultural traditions.

The Alliance also is gearing up for its 36th presentation of the Celtic Classic, set for Sept. 22-24.
Major announcements, including the performer lineup, are expected to be made this month.
