ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Wire Mill Bridge, which connects Martin Luther King Boulevard to Route 145 via South Lehigh Street in Allentown, will reopen Thursday, July 27, according to a Facebook post from Lehigh County, the bridge's owner.

- Formally known as the Wire Mill Bridge, it has been closed since May 2022
- It was expected to reopen in December 2022
Also called the Lehigh Street Bridge, the span crosses Little Lehigh Creek and is a heavily traveled access road to the main campus of the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital.
It has been closed since May 16, 2022.
The heavily traveled structure will now feature four traffic lanes, two in each direction, and sidewalks.
The new bridge is expected to carry 15,000 vehicles every day, the post said.
The bridge was originally expected to open in December 2022, according to the City of Allentown website.
