ALLENTOWN, Pa. — State police are warning of traffic disruptions ahead of first lady Jill Biden's visit to the Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, July 2.
Biden will visit Lehigh Carbon Community College's Donley Center on Hamilton Street in Allentown, according to the White House.
She will be joined by U.S. Rep. Susan Wild, a three-term incumbent representing the Lehigh Valley, and U.S. Reps. Nanette Barragan, D-California, and Nydia Velazquez, D-New York.
The Democrats are expected to discuss education and workforce development in the area, according to a news release from Wild's team.
It will be part of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus on the Road, which looks to engage officials with the Latino community ahead of the upcoming election.
The Donley Center near Seventh and Hamilton streets offers noncredit programming to help students find a career, GED preparation, GED testing, English as a second language, and short-term job training programs.
The Donley Center site offers a variety of services for Spanish speaking students like English as a Second Language courses, bilingual and multilingual faculty and staff, and student support options.
State police are advising the public to expect delays and intermittent road closures from 1 to 4 p.m. on roads in Allentown and Route 22, both eastbound and westbound.
The traffic disruptions are expected to affect other areas throughout the region.
